Internet Information Services 7.0 (IIS7) is the next generation version of IIS (Microsoft's Web Server)
which officially launched on February 27, 2008.
 DiscountASP.NET takes advantage of
features in Windows 2008 and IIS 7.0 and we configure our server platform for
increased security and reliability. We host each web hosting account in its own isolated application pool.
What that means is that if a customer uploads a bad script, it will only crash their one site instead of all the sites in the
same application pool.
Important Note about Migrating Applications to IIS7
IIS 7.0 is a new platform that just launched in February 2008. IIS7 is quite different from IIS6.
Applications that worked on IIS 6.0 may or may not migrate as is to IIS 7.0.
Therefore, for customers migrating from IIS6 Hosting to IIS7 Hosting,
we recommend testing your applications on your local development server.
